Read Across America/Dr. Seuss' Birthday

Ms. Sasser excited about Read Across America/Dr. Seuss' Birthday

Today we celebrated Dr. Seuss' Birthday! His real name is Theodore Seuss Geisel. Dr. Seuss was a great author who wrote wonderful books that encouraged children to read! Dr. Seuss wrote a great deal of books that used rhyming words. He is most known for The Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham, and The Grinch Who Stole Christmas. Ms. Sasser, our great librarian, organized this day. Ms. Sasser worked with Dr. Shepherd, an MC professor, to get readers to come and read to all of the classes.

The Dr. Seuss Readers getting their books to read.

Ms. Sasser and Dr. Shepherd getting ready for the Dr. Seuss Readers.

Miss Nancy Leigh reading McElligott's Pool by Dr. Seuss to Ms. Strum's 2nd grade class.

Miss Singletary reading one of Dr. Seuss' books.
We were so special! We had two readers come to our class and come celebrate Dr. Seuss' Birthday! Thank you so much Miss Singletary and Miss Nancy Leigh. It was a GREAT day! Thank you to Ms. Sasser for all your hard work in helping us celebrate Dr. Seuss' Birthday!
