We learned about the four kinds of sentences this week in English. Ms. Strum taught us that there are four kinds of sentences. The first kind of sentence is a Declarative sentence. A declarative sentence is the same as a telling sentence. This sentence ends in a period. The second kind of sentence is an Interrogative sentence. This sentence is the same as an asking sentence. It ends in a question mark. The third kind of sentence is an Imperative sentence. This sentence is also known as a command sentence. This sentence is used when you are giving an order. It ends in a period. The fourth kind of sentence is an Exclamatory sentence. It ends in an exclamation mark. An exclamation mark is used to show excitement or fear. Ms. Strum gave us all four kinds of sentences. We had to cut out the sentences and glue them under the correct heading according to the sentence being Declarative, Interrogative, Imperative, or Exclamatory.

Throughout the week in Math, Ms. Strum reviewed basic addition and subtraction facts with us. We made circle maps on addition and subtraction vocabulary. Ms. Strum taught us that when we see the words in all, altogether, and sum we add. We know that we subtract when we see the words how many are left, take away, and difference. Ms. Strum also taught us about fact families. Ms. Strum will do better next week taking pictures of our Math lessons.
This week we started going to Special Subjects. On Tuesday and Thursday, we went to Music with Mrs. Williams. We had a good time with her. We love to sing and dance with Mrs. Williams. On these same days, we go to Library as well. This week Ms. Sasser taught us how to take an AR test. We get to check out books and take AR tests on the books that we check out. We are also able to take AR tests on books that Ms. Sasser and Ms. Strum read to us. We are able to earn points on the books that we read. Ms. Sasser gives us prizes out of her "Prize Closet" when we earn a certain number of AR points! This helps us become "better" readers. On Friday, Mr. D took us outside for P.E. We always have a great time with Mr. D. He is alot of fun. He told Ms. Strum that we did good for him. Ms. Strum always tells us that "We are the Best Class in the Whole School!" On Friday, we showed Mr. D that we were! :-) He came back telling Ms. Strum that we were good for him! :-)
